For the age in which human imagination meets artificial intelligence.
HUMAIN exists to recognize a new creative space.
A space in which human imagination and artificial intelligence may work together in the creation of art, music, writing, design, ideas, experiences, and forms yet to emerge.
This Charter does not seek to define technology.
It seeks to define a creative position.
Its purpose is simple:
To acknowledge the meeting of human imagination and artificial intelligence with honesty, clarity, and respect.
Human imagination remains the origin of every HUMAIN work.
Artificial intelligence may assist, extend, transform, or challenge the creative process, but it does not replace the act of human imagining.
Every HUMAIN work begins with human intention.
HUMAIN recognizes collaboration between humans and artificial intelligence as a legitimate creative practice.
Such collaboration may take many forms.
No single method is prescribed.
No single process is required.
The value of a work is not determined by the tools used to create it, but by the imagination, judgement, and intention behind it.
The presence of artificial intelligence within a HUMAIN work may be acknowledged plainly.
Not as a disclaimer.
Not as a claim.
But as a simple recognition of process.
Transparency is preferred to concealment.
Clarity is preferred to confusion.
A HUMAIN work should not falsely claim a purely human origin when artificial intelligence played a meaningful role.
Nor should the role of artificial intelligence be exaggerated beyond its contribution.
Truth is preferred to performance.
Honesty is preferred to mythology.
HUMAIN encourages respect.
Respect for creators.
Respect for audiences.
Respect for source material.
Respect for culture.
Respect for imagination itself.
Technology does not remove responsibility.
The tools may change.
The obligation to act thoughtfully remains.
Not everything that can be generated should be generated.
Not everything that can be created should be released.
Selection remains an act of authorship.
Restraint remains a creative choice.
The ability to create more does not remove the responsibility to choose well.
A HUMAIN work is not defined by the amount of artificial intelligence involved.
It is defined by intention.
“How much AI was used?”
The question is:
“What was created, and why?”
This Charter does not seek to predict the future.
It seeks only to describe a way of working within it.
The principles expressed here may endure even as the tools change.
The technology may evolve.
Human imagination remains.
What is created here is neither fully human nor fully artificial.
It is made in the space between.
